Recon started as an internal tool at 1 MSP — a ChannelPro Top 20 MSP serving cross-border logistics, specialty healthcare, and construction across Texas. Month-end was four days of PDF wrangling. So we built the tool we wished existed.
By 2024, our AP team was reconciling hundreds of vendor invoices a month across dozens of clients — Microsoft, Pax8, Ingram, dozens of one-off SaaS subscriptions. Spreadsheets stopped scaling. Generic AP tools didn't understand multi-tenant MSP economics. So we built Recon to do what we needed: ingest from the inbox, extract with AI, match against payments, and post clean entries to QuickBooks Online — per client, with a full audit trail.
Once it was running internally, other MSPs in our peer groups started asking for it. Recon by 1 MSP is the result — the same engine, productized for any managed service provider that's tired of month-end being a fire drill.
